Terms of Service

I. Customers Under 18

18+ only

We will not enter into contracts with anyone under 18 years old. Age verification is required to commission us.

II. Quotes & Deposit

30% non-refundable deposit

After receiving an official price quote, a 30% non-refundable deposit must be made by a date to reserve your commission slot. This date will be sent along with your price quote. This payment will be applied to the total cost of your commission. If no date is specified, we must receive the payment within seven days of sending you the official price quote. The deposit is non-refundable and pays for time spent conversing, researching, sketching, ordering supplies, and more in the event of a cancelled commission. After receipt of your deposit, changes may no longer be made to your commission.

III. Payments

Delivery comes after payment

We must receive the remainder of your balance plus shipping upon completion of your commission. You are responsible for late or missed payments. Priority will be given to customers based on when final payment is received with the exception of commercial projects and rush orders. The sooner you pay for your costume in full, the sooner it will be worked on. We will not ship out any commission until it has been fully paid for. If your costume is not paid for within 30 days of completion, it will be auctioned or sold to another buyer.

IV. Shipping & Customs

Customer is responsible for shipping costs

Shipping is not included in the original quote and will be calculated by Tiny Wyvern Creations and then paid for by the customer upon completion. International customers must pay all customs fees and/or taxes on their costumes. Local pickup is not available.

V. Measurements

We require duct tape dummies for bodysuits

If you are commissioning a full body costume for an individual performer, we must have a duct tape dummy (DTD) from you. Customer is responsible for shipping cost of DTD. Take time and care in creating your DTD as it will directly affect the fit of the commission. If we receive a DTD that cannot be used, we will ask for a new one to be made, which will delay project completion. Creating a DTD can also be dangerous. Do not lock your knees or cut off circulation to your limbs limbs by pulling too tight. We are not liable for any injuries or mishap that occurs during this process. We will also need miscellaneous measurements and your shoe size.

VI. Communication

We prefer email or Telegram

Written communication is required. Communication regarding your commission will take place over e-mail or Telegram. If you have a rush order, you must respond to e-mails within 24 hours or we reserve the right to extend the deadline or cancel the commission. For all other commissions, a response is needed within 48 hours.

VII. Work Order

Payment order affects completion order

With the exception of commercial projects, we work on costumes in order roughly 80 hours per week. Work order is affected by payment completion date and is visible on our public Trello: https://trello.com/b/JAf6heEf/tiny-wyvern-creations

VIII. Style & Edits

Our style will affect our costumes

We strive to bring every commissioner’s vision to life through our costumes, but due to the nature of this art form, our style will come into play. We aim to use similar eye shapes, expressions, and painting techniques for a consistent style. This will not be changed unless otherwise specified. We are willing to make minor edits throughout the building process to better fit concept art or ideas. Edits are restricted to three changes per piece, and we reserve the right to refuse further edits if we feel they are unreasonable or will damage the piece. Further edits may be done at an hourly rate. Major decisions, such as fur color, will be decided after a commission is accepted. Once a fur, construction technique, detail, or other aspect of a project has been chosen, it cannot be changed. If you have any doubts about a particular color or material, you are responsible for saying so before construction of your commission has begun. Any changes after the construction has start on a costume may be denied or may incur an hourly rate.

IX. Reference Art

Commissioners are responsible for providing references

Reference art of every character is required for personal costumes with the exception of an artistic liberty or free reign commission. It is your responsibility to provide us with reference sheets, photos, or other images that are your property or that you have received permission to use.

X. Repairs & Warranty

60 day repair warranty

We warranty repairs on all costumes for 60 days upon receipt. In the unlikely event a costume is damaged due to construction (ex: seam coming loose) or it does not fit properly, ship it back to our studio and we will repair it. We ask that all customers carefully package their costume and pay for the initial shipping back to our studio; we will cover shipping back to you. Local pickup for adjustments is not available. If commissions are damaged or dirty due to misuse or neglect, we will not repair it and that commision's warranty will be void. Repairs past the warranty date may be available for an additional cost; contact us for details. Please inspect your costume in full upon receipt. In the event of any shipping damage, retain ALL shipping materials and contact me immediately so we can make a claim with the postal service. If there is no shipping damage, please inspect your costume thoroughly and report any defects or fit issues to me within 72 hours of receipt of the commission. If no contact is made within 72 hours of receipt, you accept your costume as delivered.

XI. Durability

Mistreatment voids warranty

At Tiny Wyvern Creations, we strive to make extremely durable costumes. Despite this, costumes need to be treated with care. Mistreatment of your costume (smoke or water damage, pulled wires, improper packing, taking it through the mud or dirt, etc) voids the warranty and is not our responsibility.

XII. Deadlines

Convention deadlines incur rush fees

Deadlines do not come standard. If a specific date is requested and accepted, a rush fee will be applied as outlined below:

20% fee – When we need to put in a few extra hours here and there to get it done in time.
30% fee – When we need to get it done in ¾ of our normal time; involves working weekends.
50% fee – When we need to get it done in ½ of our normal time; involves working nights, weekends, and 12+ hour days.

We reserve the right to refuse any deadline request.

XIII. Cancellations & Refunds

We reserve the right to cancel for any reason

We reserve the right to cancel or decline a commission for any reason.

If a commissioner chooses to cancel their commission, Tiny Wyvern reserves the right to keep the 30% non-refundable deposit, the right to keep our work done on the project, and the right to adjust and sell that work to another buyer.

If Tiny Wyvern cancels a commission midway due to poor customer communication, failure of a customer to provide measurements, or percieved customer aggression/rudeness, Tiny Wyvern reserves the right to keep the 30% non-refundable deposit, the right to keep our work done on the project, and the right to adjust and sell that work to another buyer.

If Tiny Wyvern cancels a commission midway for any other reason, we will refund the price in full and keep the partially-completed commission. The commission will be altered no longer resemble the original commission and will be sold to another buyer.

Refunds will no longer be considered following commissioner approval upon commission completion.

XIV. Liability

You are responsible for your wellbeing

Tiny Wyvern is not responsible for any injury, bodily harm, or death sustained by those wearing our costumes. Commissioners agree that they are fully and solely responsible for making good decisions when costuming.

This includes and is not limited to heat stroke, falling, tripping, and other injuries. You agree that it is your responsibility to have a handler to look out for you at all times. You agree that it is your responsibility to take frequent breaks out of costume for water and fresh air. You also agree to exercise caution and know your limits involving heat and vision.

XV. Pets

We have them

We have a dog, and while we keep the studio meticulously clean, pet allergens may find their way into costumes during construction. By commissioning Tiny Wyvern, you acknowledge and accept this.

XVI. These Terms

They may change

Tiny Wyvern reserves the right to change these Terms at any time. By commissioning Tiny Wyvern, you agree to these Terms and future changes to them.
